The Good Life

Essentially, life has no inherent meaning at all. The meaning of life depends on each one of us. We are free beings who have the capacity to choose for ourselves, and our choices should make us happy, after all, we make those choices ourselves, but too much freedom can be dangerous. Hence, we need purpose. We must have a reason to live, and once we have that purpose and that choice, we need to remember who we live our lives for, be it for God, ourselves or our loved ones. Another important element in life is balance, to have harmony. Disorder and chaos are what can lead to all things negative. Thus, we need to live in harmony with each other and with the universe and all its beings. The sad thing in life is that what is done is done. As the saying goes, “Yesterday is a mystery. Tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift; that is why it is called the present.” Despite what happens in the past, we have today and tomorrow to make it all better. We need motion and fluidity in our lives, to keep moving forward. What a good life ultimately is depends on who we are and what we want in life, but I believe that as long as we have love, choice, purpose, harmony and a mindset of moving forward, we will have happiness and peace, which will make our journey in life worth every second. As such, the good life is a life lived moving forward with love, choice and purpose, in harmony with the universe.
